Amelia Discovery is one of our most-popular Red Sea diving liveaboards. It was built in 2005 and its most-recent refit was in 2017. At 32m. in length, it’s just the right size to accommodate up to twenty lucky guests in twin & double cabins. There is plenty of space, inside and out, for guests to relax in comfort and enjoy the views & the company of others. Prices are very competitive, and Nitrox fills are for free. For last-minute bookings there are often generous discounts on any remaining spaces. All in all, Amelia Discovery is a great choice for your next Red Sea diving cruise in Egypt.
Starting with the top deck, Amelia Discovery has comfortable sun loungers for sunbathing or stargazing, and a shaded area with soft sofas and low tables. Going down the spiral staircase takes you to the upper deck, which is home to four guest cabins, the Captain’s Wheelhouse, and the outdoor covered bar area. The guest cabins on the upper deck are two double cabins for couples, and two twin cabins. Each has sea-view windows, air conditioning, a private bathroom, and plenty of electrical sockets & storage areas. The upper-deck cabins have doors which open out onto the deck, enabling a great view to greet you every time you step out. Behind the cabins is where most guests spend a lot of time between dives. The outdoor bar has four large sofas with coffee tables, and there are stools at the bar. Here you can enjoy the sea breeze & great views, while chatting about the day’s diving and maybe have a beer, wine or cocktail.
The main deck on Amelia is for dining & diving. The air-conditioned indoor lounge has plenty of space for everyone to sit down and enjoy the sumptuous meals served by the expert chefs on board. The food is an international blend, served buffet style, and covers most dietary needs including vegetarian. Guests with special needs just need to let us know in advance. There are four large tables in the dining lounge, lots of windows to enjoy the view, and a staircase down to the lower deck. In the dining lounge there is also a large flat-screen tv ideal for watching movies, or showing off the diving images of the day.
At the rear of the main deck is the diving platform. This is split onto two levels; one for storing equipment and gearing up, and the lower level for waiting for the all clear to step into the crystal-clear water of the Red Sea. Each diver is allocated a space for the cruise, where their equipment stays between dives. There are also personal crates for equipment items such as weightbelts & fins. The lower level is easily large enough for groups to wait safely, and is low to enable the most-comfortable entry. Two ladders are there for returning after the dive, and the ladders have an ingenious design to make climbing with fins on incredibly easy. There are two communal bathrooms on the diving deck. Naturally, a motorized tender dinghy is used for collecting divers who surface far from the boat or too near the reef.
Amelia’s lower deck has six guest cabins, which are all twins with side-by-side single beds. Like the upper-deck cabins, each has air-conditioning and a private bathroom with hot & cold freshwater showers. Also, there are storage areas, electrical sockets and reading lights.

Itinerary
There are several itineraries on Amelia. Please carefully select an itinerary from the list below that matches your chosen trip on the schedule. Nearly all the trips are 7D/7N, with the first and final nights usually spent on board at the harbour (or sometimes in a 4* hotel). The 7D/7N trips have 6 diving days, with reduced dives on the final day to enable guests to fly after disembarkation, and maybe to dry their equipment properly before packing.
The itineraries below are the most-common for each trip, but these can sometimes be changed for a number of reasons. Small changes are made due to weather & sea conditions, special marine life sightings, overcrowded dive sites, local-authorities' instructions, and the needs & requests of the paying guests. The safety & comfort of all guests is most important at all times.

There is a range of scuba diving courses available on Amelia, but these normally need to be pre-booked in advance, and we cannot guarantee every type of course. The most-popular scuba diving courses on liveaboard boats are the Advanced and Nitrox courses, because these are designed to improve the skills of already-certified scuba divers.
