MY Ocean Lovers

At 45 metres long and 9 metres wide, Ocean Lovers is one of the largest Red Sea diving safari liveaboards. The boat has five decks and 16 well-appointed cabins. Whether you're coming alone, with a partner, or in a group, there's the perfect accommodation for you on this wonderful, and very well-run boat. Plus Nitrox fills are available for free.

Starting at the top deck, here you can get a 360° view of the Red Sea, maybe watching for dolphins or gazing at the stars! Then the 'upper deck' has two double cabins at the front, and a very large outdoor lounge sofa area that is partially covered and partially explosed. Here 10 or more people can easily sit together on the sofas and enjoy a beer and the view to the rear of the boat. There are also sun loungers for you to keep your tan topped up. 

The middle deck of Ocean lovers is known as the Sun Deck. Here we have a Jacuzzi at the front, eight guest cabins, and an outdoor bar and tables. This is where you are likely to spend most of your time on board. The cabins include twins and doubles, plus the Panorama Suites. The Jacuzzi is for up to four people and gives great views to the direction the boat is sailing. Then at the rear you have a serviced bar with stools, and plenty of seating around tables. This is the-most-sociable outdoor communal area on Ocean Lovers.

Ocean Lovers' main deck doesn't have any guest cabins, but here is where all the action happens! At the rear you have a huge dive deck, with loads of space for everyone to gear up. There's even a charging station for items like GoPros, phones or cameras, with slots for every guest. Moving forward, we have a huge air-conditioned lounge saloon with a large flat-screen tv and media system, plus lots of comfortable sofas, arranged well to allow socialising as well as privacy. And in front of the lounge saloon is the restaurant (dining room) where the meals are served throughout the trip. The large windows let in plenty of daylight, giving a spacious feeling. And the food is simply delicious! Three meals per day, served buffet style, and snacks in between.

Finally, the lower deck of Ocean Lovers is home to six standard twin cabins, Although these cabins are the cheapest to stay in, they still have plenty of space, air conditioning and a private bathroom! Whichever cabin you stay in, you're guranteed to have plenty of storage space and a great night's sleep. Don't forget that the boat spends the first and final night of each trip in the harbour, and at 45 metres long and 9 metres wide, you won't feel the waves while out at sea.

Ocean Lovers' itineraries focus on the north of the Red Sea. You can choose from reefs and wrecks around Ras Mohamed and Tiran, with or without visiting The Brothers Islands, or experience the most-exciting dive locations of The Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone. Each week-long trip aims for 18-20 dives.

Prices & Schedule

Each trip starts in the afternoon or evening of the first day of your trip, but the boat stays in the harbour during the night. This enables everyone to get a good night's sleep and if anyone's flight is delayed, they can still join. Boarding is possible from 4pm.

The following morning Ocean Lovers departs from the harbour and you usually get two dives. Then for each full diving day you get three dives, but this can sometimes be as many as four, depending on the location.

On your final full day on the boat you get up to two dives, which allows enough time to off gas before flying and for the boat to return to harbour. you usually sleep the final night on the boat in the harbour, but sometimes the team will transfer guests to a nearby luxury hotel instead. At the end of the trip, you disembark after breakfast.

Ocean Lovers has three main itineraries, all of which sail from and return to Hurghada.

The main itineraries are as follows

- BDE (Brothers, Daedalus & Elphinstone), which visits the best dive locations in the national marine parks of the Red Sea as well as local reefs. Expect up to 18 dives.

- North & Brothers visits the reefs and wrecks of the northern Red Sea and The Brothers Islands. Expect up to 20 dives, depending on conditions.

- North & Tiran visits the reefs and wrecks of the northern Red Sea plus the Straits of Tiran. This itinerary involves less sailing and therefore the opportunity of some more dives. It's also better for less-expereinced divers. Up to 20 dives.
