Sea Serpent Grand is, as its name suggests, a large & luxurious Red Sea liveaboard. Measuring 43 metres long and more than 8 metres wide, the boat has lots of communal space, large cabins, and can easily sail through any sea conditions. The boat is operated by a very professional team, with experienced crew and dive guides. Nitrox is available for free, and the boat has Wi-Fi when in range.
Although Sea Serpent Grand's design is similar to many other Red Sea liveaboards, its sheer size enables it to stand out among the best and enables it to offer more & larger cabins, plus areas inside & out for you to fully relax. There are four spacious decks, three of which have communal areas, and three have guest cabins.
The top deck of Sea Serpent Grand is also known as the fly deck or sun deck. Up here there's a lot of soft seating in the shade, plus plenty of sun beds for topping up your tan or gazing at the stars. This deck is very popular in the early morning and late evening, but you're likely to find someone up here at all times of day.
Sea Serpent Grand's upper deck has five separate zones. These are four outdoor communal areas, and guest cabins. The guest cabins are a large Honeymoon Suite at the front, with four deluxe cabins just behind. The four communal areas are a large exposed seating area at the front of this upper deck, plus a bar, and shaded & exposed sofa areas behind. You're likely to spend a lot of your non-diving time on this upper deck, such is the choice of relaxing areas with great views and a sea breeze.
The main deck is where you will find the boat's largest cabin, which is a huge Honeymoon Suite at the front. And at the rear is a massive diving deck, with space for nearly 40 tanks. The tank slots are well laid out in several zones, to give everyone their own space to store equipment and to gear up before stepping down to the huge flat dive platform. And in between this suite and the dive deck is the lounge saloon and dining room. This open-plan area is extremely spacious and has plenty of natural light from huge windows on both sides. You can enjoy delicious meals served throughout the day, or relax on the big sofas to watch a movie or just enjoy the comfort, peace & quiet. Meals served include a perfect blend of local and western cuisine, that's served buffet style. And there's always fruit and snacks available if you want something between meals.
Finally, on the lower deck there are eight standard cabins, which are six twins and two doubles. These cabins have porthole windows, and all Sea Serpent Grand cabins have a refrigerator (mini bar), air conditioning and en suite bathroom with hot & cold freshwater shower.
The main reason for joining Sea Serpent Grand's trips are for scuba diving. Sea Serpent Grand is set up with Nitrox (free to certified divers) and the experienced guides will show you all the best that the Red Sea has to offer. The trips range from reefs and wrecks in the north, to the Brothers, Daedalus, Elphinstone and the southern marine parks. Whichever trip you join you will enjoy to the maximum.

Itinerary
All Sea Serpent Grand itineraries are one week long, with seven nights on board, five full diving days and morning dives on the final full day aboard. You join the boat in the evening, and the boat usually stays in the harbour for the first and final nights. Most days offer up to three dives, but some days you can get four dives. Night diving is not permitted inside the national marine parks. You leave the boat after breakfast on the final day.
Most Sea Serpent Grand trips are from Hurghada to the best reefs and wrecks of the northern Red Sea. Almost all will visit Ras Mohamed and Thistlegorm Wreck. Some also sail east to The Straits of Tiran and some itineraries sail south to the famous Brothers Islands. We have a selection of more-detailed itineraries below, plus you can click on 'Show Itinerary' on your chosen trip on the schedule.
The itineraries below are the most-common for each trip, but these can sometimes be changed for a number of reasons. Small changes are made due to weather & sea conditions, special marine life sightings, overcrowded dive sites, local-authorities' instructions, and the needs & requests of the paying guests. The safety & comfort of all guests is most important at all times.

Courses
Diving courses are available on Sea Serpent Grand, but please let the team know in advance. Ideally, you will pre-book your course so that you can complete the theory sections online, which reduces the time on board with academic studies. The Advanced Adventurer and Nitrox courses are very popular, because they enable you to dive deeper, and for longer.
Transfer details
The Sea Serpent team collect guests from the local airport and hotels during the afternoon of the first day of the trip. Most trips sail from Hurghada and the airport is very near the marina. Ideally, you will board in the early evening, but later flight arrivals can be catered for.
At the end of your cruise on Sea Serpent Grand the team can transfer you back to Hurghada airport or local hotels, usually soon after breakfast.
All free transfers are shared with other guests and at set times. If you need a transfer to or from 'the other airport' then just ask us for details.
