Akomo Isseki is a very popular Indonesian liveaboard that offers cruises to the best diving areas of Indonesia. Although the boat's design may look old, it is in fact a phinisi schooner, built in 2018 in Sulawesi, where all the best phinisi boats are made. There are four guest cabins, all with a tasteful but practical decor. The boat is just the right size for up to eight guests to get to know one another while also having space to relax, read a book, or just enjoy the spectacular views.
Taking no more than eight guests, led by two professional dive guides, Akomo Isseki is able to properly explore Raja Ampat and Komodo without having to worry about large groups of divers, manouvering in tight spaces, or polluting the air from large compressors and generators. The boat is by no means 'back to basics,' but it does let guests properly enjoy the peaceful surroundings of this wonderful part of the world. Akomo Isseki has a full set of safety, navigation and communication equipment and a very-experienced captain and crew in order to ensure every trip is as safe as it is exciting.
During the months from June to September Akomo Isseki is based at Labuan Bajo and offers week-long trips to the world-famous Komodo Islands. On each trip the team plan to take everyone on to land to visit the Komodo Dragons in their native habitat. Don't worry, these treks are led by a local ranger. On the Komodo trips you can expect some enjoyable easy dives, plus some exciting dives with current and the chance of Manta Rays.
Then from December to April Akomo Isseki is at Raja Ampat. Here, to properly enjoy all the dive sites, you need 10 nights on board so you can dive at Dampier Strait, Misool Island and more. This area is home to more species of marine life than anywhere else on earth, and the crew know all the best spots and when to visit them. Whichever trip you choose to join on this wonderful boat, you're guaranteed to have an unforgettable experience!
