Jaya

Jaya is an Indonesian phinisi schooner designed specifially for scuba diving cruises around the archipelago. It's a very popular boat, and for good reason. There are three double-bed cabins each with a private bathroom, and four twin cabins which share two bathrooms. All cabins have air conditioning. Jaya has different areas out on two deck levels, ensuring that there's always somewhere for you to find to relax alone or in couples or groups. There's also a large dining area that has plenty of space even for fully-booked trips. This area can be open air, or protected from wind or rain.

What makes Jaya so special? Its incredibly-experienced team run fun trips that are safe for all levels of divers. The trips offer the best scuba diving in Indonesia, at the best time of the year. This is possoble because Jaya moves between Raja Ampat and Komodo, after spending the high season at each area. And the 'crossing trips' between these areas are usually longer than the trips on offer the rest of the year.

Although its design would suggest it's an old boat, this is common for phinisi schooners, mostly built in Sulawesi. In fact, Jaya is just 25 years old and has a complete set of safety and communication equipment. The staff are well trained in preparation for all circumstances, and the dive briefings are help in English. There's a wide range of scuba diving equipment available for rent on Jaya, but it's always better to inform the team in advance so that they can prepare the best gear in your sizes.

Prices & Schedule

There are several different itineraries on Jaya, all offering several dives per day at different locations. It makes sense to arrive at the meeting town/airport the day before your trip starts, because airlines in Indonesia are sometimes unreliable.
