MV Emperor Explorer

Emperor Explorer is the newest and largest addition to the Emperor Fleet of boats. Purpose built, huge in size, and accompanied by its tender dhoni, there is more than enough space for up to 26 extremely-lucky guests to enjoy week-long cruises around some of the best diving locations in the world. There is a good choice of luxurious & well-appointed cabins on three decks, plus plenty of relaxing communal areas both inside and out.

With 13 large and comfortable guest cabins on three decks, Emperor Explorer is able to accommodate up to 26 lucky guests. The upper deck has two twin cabins and two huge doubles. On the main deck the two double cabins are the largest on the boat and have an additional single bed, although are normally only sold to two guests. Finally, on the lower deck there are five more double cabins that have an extra single bed, plus two cabins which are fixed doubles. Every cabin has individually-controlled air conditioning, a private en suite bathroom with hot & cold freshwater showers and western toilets, a safety deposit box, and a window or portholes. The materials and décor is tasteful, modern, luxurious and practical. Solo guests are welcome to join and the team never mix genders of guests who are strangers. If you join as a solo guest and want to guarantee the large double bed, the fee is just €35/week.

Explorer’s sun deck has lots of sun loungers and chairs plus a large shaded area, meaning that guests can easily choose from topping up a tan to getting some shade while enjoying the views & breeze. At the front of the upper deck is the very-popular spa-bath, where you can really relax with unbeatable views. At the rear of the upper deck is a vast outdoor covered area with sofas & small tables. This area is perfect, and therefore very popular, for relaxing in the late afternoon and early evening, maybe with a drink and some good company. The main deck is taken up mainly by the huge air-conditioned dining room restaurant and saloon lounge, where guests enjoy delicious meals (with a glass of wine for free at dinner), and can enjoy a movie.

In case you’re thinking ‘what about the dive deck?’, Emperor Explorer uses a tender vessel, known locally as a dhoni, for all the diving. Your equipment and all the compressors are stored on the dhoni, and it transports everyone from the main boat to the dive sites. Not only does this improve the logistics and speed, it keeps all the wet gear away from the dry communal areas, and provides plenty more space on the main boat.

As standard, Emperor Explorer is fitted with brand-new, state-of-the-art navigation, communication and safety equipment. The team are trained for any situation and there is a full complement of dive staff on each cruise.
