Departing from Ranong, Thailand, near the Burmese border, MV Thai Sea is ideally located to sail into Myanmar easily and quickly. It is a 20m-long boat that is very popular and can take up to twelve guests on amazing diving safaris into the mainly-undiscovered Mergui Archipelago. The boat has five twin-bunk cabins and one double bed cabin. Thai Sea is owned and run by a couple from France who have lots of experience in Myanmar liveaboard cruises because they go there so often, whereas many of the others just visit Burma a few times per season. Each trip leaves early enough in the afternoon to pass immigration before sailing into the night.
The 12 lucky passengers can choose from 4 different diving safaris in Myanmar, depending on their schedule and how adventurous they are. The basic trip is 5D/5N (advertised by some as 6D/5N) and offers 18 dives around the southernmost islands of Myanmar. There is another trip of the same length, but going further north up to Shark Cave and North Twin. There are a couple of one-week (26-dive) trips to choose from. One goes further into Myanmar’s Mergui Archipelago, all the way up to Black Rock. The other - new for this season - goes even further into mostly-unexplored territory for divers. It visits Torres Islands & Tower Rock.
The trips are guaranteed to be a relaxing break from the mainland, and things like cell phone signals & air conditioning are left behind. Instead of wasting fuel polluting the environment around this pristine marine park, Thai Sea guests enjoy life on board in a more natural way. The sea breeze is easily cool enough at sea, and there are no mosquitoes this far out.
Diving in Myanmar from Thai Sea is enjoyable & safe. Divers of all levels are welcome, but those with a little more experience will better enjoy the amazing dives. PADI courses are available at very competitive rates, and non-divers can join at a discount.

Transfer details
Guests are required to meet at the dive centre in central Ranong at an agreed time on departure day. For diving trips into Burma (Myanmar), this time is usually in the morning, so staying at a Ranong hotel is important.
Normally, the dive centre can send a vehicle to collect guests from Ranong hotels and/or the local airport.
