Panunee has moved to Indonesia, and until further notice will not be offering diving trips in Thailand. Please contact use for comparable alternatives.
One of the most prestigious and easily-recognizable diving cruise ships at the Similan Islands is Panunee. This 32m long boat is designed and built specifically for diving safaris around Thailand and neighbouring countries. Although Panunee is especially popular with Japanese guests and underwater photography enthusiasts, divers come from all over the world to join Panunee’s 4D/5N (Similans) & 5D/6N (Myanmar / Burma) diving safaris. There is just the right balance of luxury and value. Guests can choose from en suite rooms, twin deluxe, or studio cabins. All cabins have individually-controlled air-conditioning and there are lots of comfortable air-conditioned indoor and outdoor communal areas.
Panunee is a large and comfortable diving boat, and the size also ensures safe and stable journeys across any conditions the Andaman Sea cares to throw at it. Diving from a large liveaboard boat has no disadvantages at all for guests, because there are motorized tender dinghies to retrieve guests after each dive and to ferry passengers to the pristine beaches on the uninhabited islands of the Similans & Surin national parks, and in Burma’s Mergui Archipelago.
The boat’s main deck is where the wonderful suite rooms look out across the bow and there are three deluxe rooms there, too. On the lower deck there are two more deluxe rooms and two studio cabins, ideal for photographers and their equipment. The upper deck is home to the sunbathing area at the front, and this is where evening barbecues are enjoyed. Towards the back of the upper deck is the air-conditioned Andaman Multimedia Room and the open-air lounge. Meals are enjoyed on the main deck in the ‘Similan Dining Lounge.’
Diving from Pannunee is an absolute pleasure, mainly due to the boat’s design and the helpful & professional staff & crew. There is a very large diving platform, with plenty of space for everyone to move around, either before or after a dive. Naturally, Nitrox and diving courses are available and there are plenty of rinse tanks for amateur and professional underwater photographers.
