MV Stingray is a German-owned & run catamaran that has just started its new life in November 2024 as a flexible liveaboard. In the past, Stingray was a daytrip boat, but now it stays out at sea all the time, moving around the best diving sites in Thailand on different days. Guests join in the morning of their chosen day, and stay on board for one night, two nights or longer. The boat has just four cabins, each of which has air conditioning and a private bathroom, meaning that no more than eight guests sleep on Stingray per night. How is this managed? Well, the team has a speedboat that can transfer you out and bring you back. Some day trip divers also dive from Stingray but only for the middle two dives each day. The early morning and evening dives are only enjoyed by the (no more than eight) overnight guests.
At 23 metres in length and with a beam of 7m, it is both spacious and stable, especially considering how few people sleep on it. There's a large and well-planned dive platform as well as the lounge & dining area and sun deck. This twin-hull catamaran can easily, safely and smoothly sails across all kinds of sea conditions, ensuring that each diving trip is comfortable, safe and enjoyable.
Thai hospitality blends perfectly with German efficiency, ensuring that each trip, from hotel pick up in the morning to drop off in the evening, is pleasant and on time. Guests enjoy lots of great food and beverages during the trip, as well as the use of a personal towel.
Stingray moves around the Similan Islands and Richelieu Rock during the week, in order to give everyone on board a good variety of world-class dive sites. On Monday you dive at Koh Bon and Koh Tachai, on Tuesday at Richelieu Rock, and the rest of the week is at multiple dive sites around the Similan Islands. Most guests stay for one night with up to six dives, or two nights and up to ten dives. But if you want to stay for longer, just get in touch for a quote.
Stingray leaves from Khao Lak's Tab Lamu Pier at 8.00am.
Breakfast is served on board while Stingray sails out towards the Similan Islands.
Lunch is served during the surface interval.
A light meal is served on the way back to Tab Lamu.

Diving the Similian Islands was the experience of a lifetime, it was as if I was in a finding nemo movie with the most colourful fishes swimming around me, I was in awe of God's creation under the sea, truly spectacular. Jamie (@ Similan Diving Tours) was a star to finding me and my friends the exact experience that we planned for months. Thanks to Jamie for making everything running smoothly… ... the hospitality on the Stin
gray was heartwarming and the food was excellent, felt like a home on water. Helena our dive master was excellent. If i think back on that dive experience it was certainly one of the top 5 Best times in my life.
