MV Stingray is a German-owned & run catamaran that has just started its new life in November 2024 as a flexible liveaboard. In the past, Stingray was a daytrip boat, but now it stays out at sea all the time, moving around the best diving sites in Thailand on different days. Guests join in the morning of their chosen day, and stay on board for one night, two nights or longer. The boat has just four cabins, each of which has air conditioning and a private bathroom, meaning that no more than eight guests sleep on Stingray per night. How is this managed? Well, the team has a speedboat that can transfer you out and bring you back. Some day trip divers also dive from Stingray but only for the middle two dives each day. The early morning and evening dives are only enjoyed by the (no more than eight) overnight guests.
At 23 metres in length and with a beam of 7m, it is both spacious and stable, especially considering how few people sleep on it. There's a large and well-planned dive platform as well as the lounge & dining area and sun deck. This twin-hull catamaran can easily, safely and smoothly sails across all kinds of sea conditions, ensuring that each diving trip is comfortable, safe and enjoyable.
Thai hospitality blends perfectly with German efficiency, ensuring that each trip, from hotel pick up in the morning to drop off in the evening, is pleasant and on time. Guests enjoy lots of great food and beverages during the trip, as well as the use of a personal towel.
Stingray moves around the Similan Islands and Richelieu Rock during the week, in order to give everyone on board a good variety of world-class dive sites. On Monday you dive at Koh Bon and Koh Tachai, on Tuesday at Richelieu Rock, and the rest of the week is at multiple dive sites around the Similan Islands. Most guests stay for one night with up to six dives, or two nights and up to ten dives. But if you want to stay for longer, just get in touch for a quote.

Transfer details
There are many locations from which you can be picked up from (and/or dropped off at). Guests from Phuket need to make their own way (by private taxi) to Tab Lamu Pier. Those who spend the night before a day trip in Khao Lak can take advantage of free local pick ups.
In fact, instead of having to visit the dive centre the day before a trip, normally the arrangements can be made over the phone or by email and final payment etc can be done at the pier in the morning.
Guests who are unable to meet the scheduled pick ups or would like private transportation are welcome to contact us to arrange a private taxi at the most competitive rates.
