Similan Quest is one of the best-value Similan liveaboard diving boats. Similan Quest has a 'flexible' schedule. You can join the boat in the morning on any day, and stay as long as you choose. Most people choose 2D/1N (6 dives) or 3D/2N (10 dives). You need to stay in Khao Lak the night before departure, and you're taken by transfer speedboat from Tab Lamu Pier to the main boat that is out at sea. Although the main boat spends all its time at sea, it does not stay in one place. Every day it's at a new area and for every dive you enjoy a different dive site. Five days of the week it's exploring The Similan Islands. And on Thursdays and Sundays it goes to Koh Bon.
The boat has air-conditioned twin & double cabins, great food, helpful friendly staff and the prices are hard to beat. With nine air-conditioned cabins, up to 18 guests can stay on Similan Quest for its great value Similan diving trips.
Similan Quest is 25 metres long and therefore able to offer safe & comfortable sailing between dive sites. And there is a motorized dinghy to retrieve divers and to take you to the pristine beaches.
The boat has four double-bed cabins on its upper deck, which is where the main dining and socialising area is. On the main deck there are five twin cabins and a large dive platform. There’s also a large sundeck, which has shaded and open areas. Delicious food is served throughout your Similan cruise, and it’s a blend of Thai and western cuisine; tasty, but not too spicy.
All in all the boat is very well designed to offer safe & comfortable Similan diving cruises. The local crew are friendly and helpful, and the international team of Divemasters and instructors are experienced, patient & fun.
Similan Quest spends all week out at sea. Guests are transferred by speedboat from Tab Lamu Pier in the morning.
On your first day on the boat you will dive up to three times, which are mid-morning, after lunch and early evening.
If you stay on board for two or more nights, your second day on board gives you a full day's diving, with four dives including an early morning dive.
Your final day on the boat has up to three dives, which are early morning, mid-morning and ealy afternoon, then you return to the pier on the speedboat.
To give a variation of dive sites, Similan Quest moves around during the week. Therefore, please carefully check the planned dive sites for each day on the list below, or the dates on the schedule.
The itineraries below are the most-common for each trip, but these can sometimes be changed for a number of reasons. Small changes are made due to weather & sea conditions, special marine life sightings, overcrowded dive sites, local-authorities' instructions, and the needs & requests of the paying guests. The safety & comfort of all guests is most important at all times.
SDI courses are available on Similan Quest, but they normally need to be booked in advance. The SDI Advanced course is the most popular, and incredible value.
Sometimes PADI courses are available, but it's always on a case-by-case basis.

Their crews were friendly and helpful! I had enjoyable memories on board.
The arrangements on the boat were good. They went to different dive sites everyday, seldom to met other divers underwater, which was great.
Thanks TonyD! :)
A bit rush if you do 3 dives on departure day. You can do day trip or overnight. It was quite interesting to meet new people joining and leaving everyday.

We had a very good time on Similan Quest (3D/2N). The staff is very friendly and helpful, food is good and the dive sites are just amazing like a firework of fish in the water. The boat might not be the newest but everything is working properly.

A bit an older boat but this contributes to a adventure feeling:-) Everything though was working propperly. Only 16 overnight guests but a small boat is also moving more with the waves, hint for people getting easily seasick. I liked it but MV Koon 9 is much more luxury for the same prize.
