Orectolobus leptolineatus is one of the species of Carpet Sharks (Orectolobidae) which are found around the world's tropical & temperate seas. They are bottom dwellers and are in general harmless to humans. However, due to their camouflage, behaviour and diet it's easy to accidentally disturb them. And for some it's tempting to get too close for a picture. Like all marine life (especially those with poison, venom or teeth) they need space and respect.
