MY Golden Dolphin II follows in its sister ship’s footsteps, but while doing so adds more space in communal areas. Designed by divers, the boat follows a well-proven template for Red Sea scuba diving liveaboards, with four decks, plenty of indoor & outdoor areas to relax or socialise, and comfortable guest cabins.
At 38 metres long and purpose built, Golden Dolphin II is a large boat for just 20 guests. There are two double-bed cabins on its upper deck, and eight twin-bed cabins on the lower deck. Each cabin has a private bathroom, air conditioning, storage space for personal items, a window, and minibar fridge.
On the top deck of the boat there is a large area for enjoying the views & sea breeze and it’s perfect for sunbathing. There are several large soft sun loungers up here and a wheel for controlling the boat, but this is rarely used. The upper deck of Golden Dolphin II has two double-bed guest cabins which are designed for couples. At the front is a large sofa and a space for more for sunbathing. The rear of the upper deck is where you’re likely to spend much of your time on board. This communal area offers a sea breeze, great views, and plenty of soft seating. Most of it is shaded, but you really get a feeling of being outside. It’s easy to find a quiet corner, or to socialise in groups of all sizes up here. This area is very popular in the evenings.
Golden Dolphin II’s main deck has a large air-conditioned indoor area, plus a dive deck & platform. It is the busiest deck of this wonderful boat. Starting at the front, the experienced & generous kitchen team prepare delicious meals which are served several times each day in the dining room that has space for everyone to sit down and eat at the same time. A little further back is the lounge saloon with sofas, a small library, computer and AV entertainment. Finally, at the rear of the main deck is the diving area. Well-designed with plenty of tank slots and a slip-free floor you can easily and safely gear up and step down to the dive platform which is near the surface of the sea. Of course, there are two tender Zodiacs on call all the time, but when possible scuba diving straight from the liveaboard is more convenient. Nitrox is available for free to certified divers, and the on-board Nitrox course is excellent value.
On Golden Dolphin II’s lower deck there are eight twin-bed guest cabins. Each with its own bathroom, plus air conditioning & a minibar fridge. These cabins are ideal for friends, siblings or solo divers. The lower deck is accessed via the indoor stairway from the self-service kitchen.
Something that makes Golden Dolphin II unique against most Red Sea liveaboards is the trips which don’t have anyone booked yet. The destination of any trip that doesn’t have any confirmed guests is chosen by the first guests to book! So if on the boat’s schedule you see ‘any destination available’ this means nobody else has booked yet. And if you’re the first to join your chosen dates, you can decide where the boat goes from a selection of awesome itineraries.
The boat is fully serviced every year and has a full complement of navigation, communication & safety equipment & facilities. The crew & dive staff are all highly experienced in The Red Sea and its incredible scuba diving locations.
