MY Tillis is a very popular Red Sea liveaboard, offering week-long trips to the best dive sites at the time of month or year. The boat is popular due to its best-value rates, awesome food, and professionally-run trips. Each cabin has air conditioning and a private bathroom, and there are plenty of communal areas on the boat to relax alone, in pairs, or in groups.

The boat has 12 cabins, most have two single beds, and some have double beds, a tv, and a mini-fridge. On the boat's main deck is the lounge saloon and dining area & the dive deck. The air-conditioned lounge saloon is split into two areas, one more for socialising maybe with a movie, and the other for the delicious meals served several times every day. The AV & socialising half is towards the rear, and has a staircase leading down to the lower deck. There are tastefully-colourful sofas, small tables, large windows and a flat-screen tv. Towards the front is the dining area which has two large tables, enabling guests to enjoy sumptuous food together. And our guests report that the food is plentiful, varied, and delicious. Don't expect to lose any weight during your week on board!

lounge saloonBut why come all this way to sit inside? MY Tillis guests normally spend time between dives out on the large sofa deck. At the rear of the boat's upper deck is a wonderful shaded area with five large sofas and coffee tables. Here you can enjoy the sea breeze, fantastic views, the company of other guests, and a post-dive drink each evening. And of course, Tillis has a large sundeck on the roof for those who want the best views and to top up their tan.

Diving from Tillis starts from the large dive platform at the rear of the main deck. Here there is plenty of space for everyone to store and rinse gear, plus to safely jump into the crystal-clear Red Sea. At the end of your dives, if you don't surface near to Tillis, the team have two 5-metre motorized tender dinghies to come to collect you. These are also used to transport guests to islands between dives, such as at The Brothers or Daedalus. Whichever trip you choose on Tillis, you're sure to enjoy the professional team, comfortable cabins & communal areas, the delicious food, and of course awesome diving.

On-board payments for extras are possible in £GBP, €Euro & $USD in cash or in €Euro & $USD by card.

Itinerary

Booking / Enquiry

There are several itineraries on MY Tillis, and each goes to different diving locations depending on the time of year. The number of dives for each trip varies on the destination and sea conditions, but 17-19 dives per trip are planned.

Departure and return ports are Marsa Alam, Hurghada & Marsa Ghaleb. Most (but not all) trips will return to the same pier from where they start, but in some cases the trip will begin at one port and end at another. This is usually for logistical reasons concerning the following/next trip.

Trips normally begin on Saturday, and end the following Saturday. It's normal for guests to arrive during the day on Saturday and this is possible even until the evening. In accordance with the local port authorities' policies, the boats normally set sail on Sunday mornings, after everyone has arrived, settled and had a good night's sleep.

At the end of the trip, Tillis normally sails back into the return port on Friday afternoon after two dives in the morning. Guests are able to disembark on the Friday evening if they choose, but the standard procedure is to sleep on Tillis on the Friday night and take the free scheduled transfers to the airport or a local hotel on Saturday morning.

Please note that from time to time it's sometimes necessary for the Tillis team to use a local 4-Star hotel for the first or final night of the trip, instead of guests sleeping on board. This is only in special circumstances.

The itineraries below are the most-common for each trip, but these can sometimes be changed for a number of reasons. Small changes are made due to weather & sea conditions, special marine life sightings, overcrowded dive sites, local-authorities' instructions, and the needs & requests of the paying guests. The safety & comfort of all guests is most important at all times.

Courses

Taking part in a scuba diving course on MY Tillis is normally possible, but pre-booking is usually required. While most divers joining these liveaboard trips are already certified to Advanced level, some are only Open Water and choose to take the Advanced course on board. Also, specialities, such as Nitrox EANx, are popular courses on liveaboard cruises. The team can't promise every course on every trip, so please book or enquire in advance.

At least 8 of us were "upgraded" to the Sea Story, another dive boat owned by the same individual. The Sea Story was well run; the crew was great; the food was plentiful and good; the equipment was good. Only 1 of the Zodiacs had a ladder to climb out of the water. That was not ideal. After removing tanks and weight belts in the water and handing them to boat driver, we were hauled up into the boat like seals onto ice flow s. People's legs were often twisted in uncomfortable ways. Add ladders to the Zodiacs that don't have them. Also, the Zodiac drivers drove like maniacs. They would accelerate at full throttle from a dead stop. Maybe they thought this was fun. It wasn't. The divers in the boats were thrown around along with the equipment that filled half the boat. All they had to do was to ease the throttle forward gently to get up to speed. Visibility at the dive sites was quite good. The wrecks were interesting. The corals were quite good, but there was little mobile sea life, i.e., fish. No large fish and no large schools of fish. If wrecks are "your thing" fine, but I would not recommend the Red Sea for natural sea life.

From my first contact with No Troubles Just Bubbles about our trip, they made the booking and process very easy. After I researched the trip I was after, Jamie made the rest for myself and for my friends who joined later. He was our private travel agent and always on hand if we had any questions or concerns. The trip itself to Egypt was fantastic and to make it with friends was even better. Healthy corals and great visibility with plenty of marine life and excellent options for food in between dives it was a great trip for the 8 days we were there. Highly recommend No Troubles Just Bubbles for my future bookings for next year...
